Philippe Wolfers for Wolfers Freres.
An extremely rare silver and wood electrified art deco samovar ‘Claes’, probably designed in december 1927. This piece executed before 1935. Marked with makers mark and alloy 800 (/1000), with model number BJ 10. Dim. 21 x 28 x 25 cm. The coffee and tea service of model Claes (without the samovar) belongs to the collection of the Royal Museum of Art and History in Brussels. Up to this date it, is the only samovar of this model known to us.
Tétard Freres (Paris), an important silver centre piece, comprising of a jardiniere with original glit metal liner and its silver dormant, total lenght 64 cm, width 40 cm , height 18 cm. Marked with the Mercure head, alloy 950/1000, with makers mark and numbered. With cipher (RD?). In used but good condition.
Marcel Wolfers for Wolfers Freres S.A. (Bruxelles). A set for six in the Belvédère pattern, designed for Expo 58, the World Exhibition in Brussels, executed in silver, comprising 6 large forks, 6 knives and 6 spoons, 6 hors d’oeuvres forks, 6 hors d’oeuvres knives and 6 hors d’oeuvres spoons, 6 fish forks, 6 fish knives, 6 coffee spoons, 6 oyster forks, in total 60 pieces, all hallmarked, in used but original condition. Some damage to the underside of the knives. Original blades show traces of sharpening
Stefan Schwartz (1851-1924) for the firm of Brueder Frank, Vienna. An important presentation inkwell, cisseled and designed by Schwartz, executed by Br. Frank in Vienna in 1894. The inkwell, with a silver statuette of Pallas Athena, was given by the staff of Prince Heinrich VII Reuss-Koestritz (1825-1906) to their superior upon his retirement. Height 36 cm, width 40 cm, depth 26 cm, fully and consistently hallmarked, signed by Schwartz and with the Reuss-Koestritz coat of arms, and with additonal inscriptions and dates celebrating the career of this important diplomat.
